So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. John 4:16
You are more than welcomed here, you are wanted. At Northside people will learn your name. Sunday morning services begin with a time of welcome and fellowship. Coffee and treats are shared freely in the sanctuary as we gather together as a welcoming community interested in one another. Our commitment to be a community where all know they are wanted is rooted in God's invitation to abide. God is Love and we do our imperfect best to share that Love with one another. If God wants you, we do too.

MAKING A JOYFUL NOISE
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
Northside's worship is casually reverent. We like to say we take God's Love very seriously, but ourselves less so. Our soft start calls us together with shared singing as the lively time of greeting and community comes to a close. The music will make you feel at home as we sing classic hymns as well as appropriate secular music to the direction of our folksy music director. Worship continues with an offertory, prayer and message. The heart of Northside's worship is the invitation to the Table.

Radical Welcome
Here at Northside Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we are bound to one another by the open table. All are welcome to share in communion, which we share every Sunday. There is always more room at the table. No one is ever refused. The Chalice, as the Disciple of Christ's logo, witnesses to the central role the Lord's Table plays in our church. Formed by this radical invitation we are a diverse group, unlike one another, bound together not by similarities but by Jesus' Love for all.
At Northside we like to say that we are all equal under Grace.
Serving others in Christ's name
Service to others is a core characteristic of Northside. Through our offering we support the regional and national Disciples of Christ Church in its ongoing commitment to minister to a broken world with the love of Jesus Christ. Groups of servants from Northside work alongside partners within our community. Serving meals at the Volunteer Ministry Center and Sunnybrook Apartments. Working shifts at the local pantry, the Fountain City Ministry Center, and Family Promise, a ministry for families in transition from homelessness to homed. Annual mission trips for youth and adults inspire us to share our blessings.
LEARNING
We agree to disagree. Northside has no test for fellowship. Joining the church is as easy as agreeing with a simple confession. "Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah?" That is all. We have no creeds, have no authorized interpretative framework of the Bible, and treat each other with dignity. We take seriously the responsibility of each individual to learn and come to their own conclusions about their faith. Disagreeing with the pastor is perfectly acceptable. As one long time member has said many times. "I love my pastor, and he can be wrong if he wants to."
