Dear Parent,

We are excited to announce that the Northside Christian Church is offering a fall semester Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) program to serve the young people of Knox County.  JAM seeks to preserve our important mountain music heritage by offering low cost lessons in fiddle, banjo, guitar, and other instruments of the Appalachian region to small groups of students in after school settings.

Feel free to call or email program director Sarah Pirkle 865-724-6507   pirklebarbra@icloud.com

We will begin the program with in-person registration and orientation on Tuesday Sept 24 4:00pm. If you cannot make the registration, other arrangements can be made. Its a 10 week program, we will meet every Tuesday Oct 1-Dec 10.  We will not meet on Oct 8 as Knox County Schools will be on Fall break. Classes will be offered at Northside Christian Church.   Transportation to the JAM site will not be provided.  Parents will need to pick up students at 6pm.

Tuition for the 10 week program is $150. Payment can be split in 2 or 3 installments, and can be made in cash or check in person, and online using the church's donation service, Givlify, speak program director Sarah PIrkle on how to pay this way. Some financial aid is available, please indicate in the registration if you are seeking a scholarship.

Students will receive a snack and instructional sessions, guest performers, and jam sessions. once a week for this fee.  Instruments will be provided as available on a loan basis for JAM students during the time of their participation in the program.
